Nancy McCauley - Edgar Walker - Carl Morrell - Sewell Shaw

 

Nancy McCauley of Perth-Andover passed away unexpectedly at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on August 30, 2009.

Born in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, Nancy was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Lockhart. Nancy leaves behind her husband Dr. Martin McCauley; her daughter Kim (Warren) Tompkins of Hampton, NB; her sons Mark (Nancy) McCauley of Florencville, Neil (Anne) McCauley of Calgary; sister Beatrice Minnis of Plymouth, England; brother Norman Lockhart (Myrtle) of Belfast, Northern Ireland; five grandchildren Baillie Tompkins, Kieran Tompkins, Brendan McCauley, Lindsay McCauley and Torin McCauley. Nancy was predeceased by her sister Myrtle Lockhart and her brother Cyril Lockhart.

Nancy was a retired School Teacher and was a member of various organizations which include Girl Guides, Hospital Auxiliary, Town Council, Rotary Club, Recreation Committee, Non-Profit Housing and the Library Board.
 

 

Edgar Walker - The death of Edgar Walker of Main Street, Aroostook, NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, October 25th, 2009 at the age of 71.  Ed was born in South Tilley on August 23, 1938 to the late Thomas E. Walker and Muriel (Brooks) Giberson.

Until his retirement, Ed worked as Plant Manager for McAsphalt Industries in Andover.  Ed graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and worked for many years in a variety of technical fields.

Ed was a past-president of, and named a Paul Harris Fellow by, the Perth-Andover Rotary Club.  He was also a member of Benjamin Lodge #31 and served on the Aroostook Village Council.  Ed was an avid golfer and he curled for many years.  He loved the outdoors; he was a farmer at heart.  He enjoyed reading and was a wonderful conversationalist; he could talk about anything and loved a good debate.  Ed had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh.  He loved his dog, Brandi.

Ed is survived by his partner Paulette DeMerchant; four children Christie (Michael), Tom, Mark and James and four grandchildren Hailie Carr, Danielle Walker, Mallory and Connor McDonald, all of Saint John; Paulette's children, Paulette (Jay) Canam, Lorie (Jeff) Grant and Corey (Hope) DeMerchant and grandchildren Ashley, Amber and Dylan; his sisters Alice Howe of Saint John, Dorothy Crabbe and Barbara DeMerchant of Fredericton as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

     

Following a brief illness, Carl M. Morrell of Aroostook passed away peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital on August 14, 2016.

Carl was born in Morrell Siding, NB on December 1, 1940. He was the son of the late Raymond and Geneva (Downing) Morrell. Carl leaves behind his wife Greta Morrell (Pirie); his children Kelly Morrell, Lori Morrell (John Lawrence), and Todd Morrell, all of Aroostook; his grandsons Brady Morrell and Parker Greening, both of Aroostook; his sisters Beatrice McLaughlin and Shirley Price (Gary), both of Morrell Siding; his brother Wayne Morrell (Doris) of Montreal; along with many nieces and nephews. 


Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his sister Ruth Everett and his brother Donald Morrell.

 

It is with great sadness the family of Sewell Vinal Shaw of Perth-Andover, N.B. announces his passing on Monday September 4, 2017 at the home of his loving life-partner, Doris Woods. Born in Washburn, Maine on May 16, 1918, he was the son of the late Vinal and Jaska (Palmer) Shaw. 

Graduating from High School in Perth-Andover, N.B., and after serving overseas in the Second World War, he was appointed Postmaster in Perth-Andover until retirement in 1982 after 39 years. He spent many happy winters in retirement in Sarasota, Florida with his partner, Doris Woods. 

Very involved in his community as a founding member of Perth Elks Lodge No. 362, as well as an active Mason and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, he was also instrumental in the establishment of the local library in the former Post Office building. An avid golfer at Aroostook Valley Country Club, he served as President and an executive board member for many years. 

Predeceased by his wife, Marion Stewart, he is survived by his three sons, Dr. Terrence Shaw (Bente) of Tobique Narrows, NB, Graeme Shaw (Linda) of Kilburn, NB, Carl Shaw of Edmundston, NB; his loving companion of 37 years, Doris Woods, along with her daughters, Pam Sawchuk (Ron) of Powell River, BC, Lori Watson of Grand Falls, NB; his grandchildren, Christopher Shaw, Thyra Shaw, and Karen (Pierre) Brochu of Ottawa, Ontario, and his great grandchildren, Gabrielle and Melanie Brochu.
